BSU volleyball inks another recruit

The Boise State volleyball program and Head Coach Robin Davis were pleased to announce the signing of Kaycee Gow to a national letter of intent Wednesday evening. Gow will be one of five signees to become a member of the 2008 volleyball team.

The Hemet, Calif. native will look to be an immediate impact as a middle-blocker for the Broncos. As a member of the Hemet High School volleyball team she earned the 2007 Sunbelt League Most Valuable Player as well as aiding her 2006 squad to the CIF Southern Section semifinals.

Beyond high school, Gow is a member of the 951 Elite Volleyball Club team and helped her 2007 team to the finals of the 17-and-under division at the Volleyball Festival. During her 2008 club season she has helped the 951 team earn the Mid-East Qualifier Champion title.

Gow will join Lydia Blaha, Alexandra Diemer, Elizabeth Griffin and Eliza Pledger, forming the core of the Broncos' 2008 freshmen class.

Women's soccer signs Washington recruit

Steve Lucas, Boise State University's head soccer coach, announced Wednesday the signing of Molly Hill to a national letter of intent. Hill, a prep standout from Sammamish, Wash., will join the squad this August and will compete at the forward position.

She will help fill the void left by the graduation of 11 seniors from this year's team. Hill is the 15th member of the 2008 recruiting class.

International recruit signs with women's golf

Boise State University Head women's golf Coach Nicole Harris announced the signing of Maria Santisteban to National Letter of Intent for the 2008-09 season, Wednesday.

Santisteban, a native of Tampico, Mexico, is currently the No. 5 junior golfer in Mexico and boasts three top-10 finishes on the Texas Junior Golf Tour in 2007.

While on tour, the high school senior garnered a second place finish at the TJGT Redstone Invitational in addition to a third place finish at the TJGT Red River Challenge.

In addition to her achievements with TJGT, Santisteban competed in several National Junior Golf Tournaments in the U.S., including the Optimist International where she finished 27th out of 110 participants. In 2007, Santisteban competed at the Mexican Junior Golf Association Tour Championship where she took second.

Men's golf signs Arizona recruit

Boise State University Head men's golf Coach Kevin Burton announced the signing of Blake Brown to a National Letter of Intent for the 2008-09 season, Wednesday.

Brown, a native of Scottsdale, Ariz., recorded four tournament victories in 2007, earning his latest individual crown at the Southwest Section PGA - Phoenix Metro Junior City Championships, Feb. 23-24. The high school senior currently ranks 232 on the Junior Golf Scoreboard and boasts a scoring average of 70.6 this season.

On top of his invitational wins, including a victory at the Westfield PGA Junior Section Championship, Brown also finished runner-up in two others, while posting a third place finish at the Arizona Boys 5A High School State Championship.

In addition to his numerous tournament titles, Brown was named runner-up in both 2006 and 2007 for the Junior Golf Association Player of the Year, while being named the 2006 Southwest Section PGA Junior Player of the Year.
