Christopher Horner takes aim at global warming

On Tuesday, May 6, Christopher Horner, best-selling author of "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming and Environmentalism" and critic of global warming, will speak in the Hatch Ballroom of the Student Union Building at 7 p.m. This is such a great opportunity to hear the other side of the story on an issue so important in our time.
As a student, I typically only hear one version of what is actually happening to our environment: global warming this, global warming that. For once I would like to see some substantial proof of the matter, because, honestly, it sure doesn't feel like global warming is happening.
If you stepped outside not too long ago, you could feel how cold the temperatures were and the lack of the sun's warmth. To me, this leaves a hint of doubt as to whether global warming is real or not. Snow in late-April and my freezing toes when I wear sandals tell me global warming doesn't exist.
While true, it is statements like the latter that can get us into trouble. The fact of the matter is, a majority of us are not scientists or meteorologists and can't tell what is proof and what is myth when it comes to global warming. It's important to look at issues objectively, or at least look at both sides of the story.
If we are not careful, we can become consumed with bad or false information. The 2006 documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" is hailed by many as accurate, but what research has been done to argue this claim?
Horner will be offering that research and providing us with information to argue against Gore's claims. Honestly, if you are serious about the environment, about going green and about the global warming issue you should seriously consider attending Horner's lecture Tuesday.
Horner has proactively educated people on the global warming issue on media outlets such as Fox News, Court TV, MSNBC and repeat visits on BBC, CNN and ITN. Boise State University should be honored to have such an acclaimed member of society speak on our campus. Since it is so rare to listen to conservative lectures on campus, I even encourage liberals to attend. We can all learn a lot from other peoples' perspectives. Part of our educational experience comes through listening to the other side.
Whether you believe global warming will kill us all in 2050 or not, or if you think global warming is one giant hoax, Horner's lecture will be a beneficial and educational experience. Educate yourselves on the issues at hand before you make a
decision and before you take a side. Global Climate change affects all of us, either financially or environmentally, and it's important to take part of this free event.

Three elements of a hoax are evoking emotions, mental overload and immediacy. This fits the global warming alarmists like a glove. We will be the cause of millions of people suffering from severe weather because we drive cars which produce CO2 which thickens the atmosphere which keeps the heat in and raises the average global temperature which melts land-based glaciers into the oceans which will increase in volume and flood the land.
