The sophomore from Boise made a name for himself last year. He earned First Team All-WAC honors, as well as finishing seventh at the WAC Championships with a time of 23:58.81. Look for Bosch to improve his times even more this season, after he had a great track season last spring. [Click to enlarge]

The thought of running for miles at a time
makes the average college student cringe and
break out in a cold sweat.
But for the Boise State cross country team,
the thought of running a few miles is met with a bring it on attitude.
The cross country team is maybe one that
you haven't heard of much on campus. Maybe
you are new to Boise State, or you're not that into running, or you still can't log on to clean access, but whatever the excuse, this year's cross country team will make sure everyone knows who they are.
The Broncos distance runners have a team
made up of mostly underclassmen. Though
they may lack collegiate experience, they
overflow with talent.
Last years Western Athletic Conference
Athlete of the Year, Breanna Sande, leads
the women's side, while the men look to First Team All-WAC sophomore Sawyer Bosch.
"Last year we barely had enough to make a
guy's team, so it's really nice to run with 15 guys," Bosch said.
This young team gets its first chance to
show off its talent on Sept. 6 at the Northwest Nazarene Invitational.
With a young team and first year coach
Brad Wick, the Broncos might seem to be in a
rebuilding year to some, but this team is ready to go.
"I'm really excited. Both teams [men's and
women's] have good promise to place really high in the WAC," said Wick.
When asked about questions of team chemistry, the response was very positive.
"It's really good, everyone gets along really well," Sande said.
This is a great sign for the Broncos as team chemistry equals a large part of the equation for overall success.
Another part of the "success equation" is fan support, but when your season consists of eight meets and all but two out of the state of Idaho, Bronco fan support is hard to come by.
The Bob Firman Invitational in Eagle is the closest chance to see the Broncos in action. It takes place on Sept. 20 at Eagle Island State Park. But if just watching doesn't quite satisfy your need for athletic competition, there is another option.
"Any female that would like to run with the team, they can come on in and we can get them hooked up and get them with the group, and any guy that wants to keep the running going can join the Track Club," Wick said.
