Abe Jackson as color announcer for men’s basketball
Peak Broadcasting and Boise State University jointly announced Sept. 10 the appointment of Abe Jackson as the men’s basketball color analyst for the Peak/Boise State University Sports Radio Network.
In this new position, Jackson will provide vital stats, descriptions and courtside commentary throughout the game. As a former Boise State basketball starter and local Boise athlete since grade school, Jackson will bring Bronco hoops to life for radio listeners throughout the West.
A lifelong resident of Boise, Jackson graduated from Bishop Kelly High School in 1998, the year they won the state championship. In 2003 he played professional basketball in France (Valence-Condom), and then returned to the Treasure Valley to complete his communication degree at Boise State in 2006.
In making the announcement, Kevin Godwin, SVP/market manager of Peak Broadcasting/Boise said: “As the excitement of the 2008-09 Boise State athletic season gets underway, we are proud to welcome Abe to our talented team of broadcast professionals at Peak Broadcasting. Abe’s in-depth knowledge of college basketball, Boise State and the Treasure Valley will make tuning in Boise State basketball on the Peak/Boise State University Sports Radio Network a truly unique listening experience.”

Boise State men’s basketball coach Greg Graham added Ryan Hellenthal to the men’s basketball staff as the school’s first director of basketball operations.
Hellenthal joins the Bronco staff after serving as an assistant coach at Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kan., for the last three years. At Coffeyville, Hellenthal served as the team’s recruiting coordinator as it compiled a 110-19 record.
The team finished third in the country in 2006-07 while winning the Jayhawk East Conference title. The team also won the league crown in 2005-06 and was ranked in the top 25 all three seasons Hellenthal was on the coaching staff.
Before joining Coffeyville, Hellenthal was an assistant coach at Garden City Community College from 2002-05 where the team averaged 20 wins per season and won its first Jayhawk West Conference championship since 1952.

At Boise State Hellenthal will serve as the associate director for Boise State’s boy’s basketball camps, while handling film exchange, on campus recruiting, recruiting correspondence, academics and various administrative duties.
